According to reports from the guardian, a suicide bomber yesterday hit a police checkpoint near NNPC mega station in Kano, killing himself, and five others including three policemen, three civilians. Scores sustained injuries.
A security source told The Guardian that the suicide bomber who rode in a car, diverted it into the mega station at Hotoro area, along Maiduguri road, detonating the explosives- laden vehicle.
Meanwhile, Kano State Commissioner of Police, Adenrele Shinaba who confirmed the development at the scene of the incident, told journalists that the attack was carried out by a suicide bomber a Sienna Salon car who attempted to bomb a police station close to the mega station.
The ugly attack, according to the source, occurred at about 8.30pm when the suspected member of Boko Haram scaled through the military checkpoint stationed by the mega filling station with the intent of refilling this fuel tank before the explosives went off.
A similar attack was unleashed on the NNPC mega station in July when a female suicide bomber, who disguised as a customer, blew herself up, killing no fewer than seven other persons.
